What are activities?

Activities let you create events at your venue that customers can sign up for through MATCHi. Each activity can have multiple occasions (sessions), and customers apply for each occasion separately. This makes activities ideal for single events or recurring sessions where attendance may vary.

Types of activities

MATCHi supports two types of activities:

  • Activities (class activities) – scheduled sessions on courts. Customers sign up per occasion. Best for drop-in events, competitions, or training sessions where attendance may vary.
  • Event activities – registration-based events with a custom submission form instead of court bookings. Best for tournaments, social events, or any event where you need to collect registrations.

For structured programmes where customers sign up once for all sessions, use courses instead.

Event activities

Event activities are designed for events that do not require court bookings or scheduled timeslots. Instead, customers register through an online form.

  • Date range – set a start and end date for the event. The event automatically moves to the archive after the end date.
  • Registration form – each event has a built-in form with customisable fields. You can set a maximum number of registrations.
  • Payment – optionally require payment when registering.
  • Membership required – restrict registration to customers with an active membership.
  • Online visibility – choose whether the event is visible on your MATCHi page.
  • Submission management – filter registrations by birth year, membership status, group, or club. Export registrations to Excel.
  • Copy event – duplicate an event activity including its form fields and optionally its registrations.

Key features

  • Online sign-up – activities are published on your MATCHi page. Customers can sign up and pay with a few clicks.
  • Flexible pricing – set different prices for members and non-members, or use customer categories for more pricing tiers.
  • Capacity limits – set a maximum number of participants per occasion.
  • Minimum participants – set a minimum and enable automatic cancellation if not enough people sign up.
  • Waiting list – when an occasion is full, customers can join a waiting list and get notified when a spot opens.
  • Registration windows – control when sign-up opens and closes relative to the occasion date.
  • Members-only – restrict sign-up to customers with an active membership.
  • Activity categories – group activities by type (e.g. Competition, Training) for easier browsing.
