What are value cards?
Value cards are digital credit cards that customers can use to pay for bookings. Each value card has a credit balance (1 credit = 1 unit of your venue’s currency). When a customer pays with a value card, the booking cost is deducted from their balance.
How value cards work
- You create value card types with a set credit amount and validity period.
- Customers can purchase value cards online (if enabled) or you can add them manually to a customer’s profile.
- When booking, the value card appears as a payment option if the booking meets the card’s conditions.
- The booking cost is deducted from the card balance.
Value cards vs punch cards
- Value cards have a monetary balance. The booking cost in your currency is deducted per use.
- Punch cards have a fixed number of uses (punches). One punch is used per booking, regardless of price.
VAT on value cards
No VAT is charged when a customer purchases a value card. VAT is applied when the card is used to pay for a booking. The VAT rate is determined by the booking type, not the card. See VAT settings for value cards for details.
Conditions
You can restrict when and where a value card can be used by setting conditions on the card type. Available conditions:
- Date range – valid only within specific dates.
- Weekdays – valid only on selected days of the week.
- Time of day – valid only during certain hours.
- Courts – valid only for specific courts.
- Hours in advance – the booking must be made at least X hours before the start time.
If no conditions are set, the value card can be used for any booking. You can combine multiple conditions – all must be met for the card to be valid.
