What are punch cards?

Punch cards let you offer customers a set number of bookings (punches) that they can use at your venue. Each time a customer books using a punch card, one punch is deducted. Punch cards can be restricted to specific days, times, and courts.

How punch cards work

  • You create punch card types with a set number of punches and conditions.
  • Customers can purchase punch cards online (if enabled) or you can add them manually to a customer’s profile.
  • When booking, the punch card appears as a payment option if the booking meets the card’s conditions.
  • One punch is deducted per booking.

Punch duration

Each punch card has a max duration setting (30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes). This defines how many minutes one punch covers. If a booking is longer than one punch, the customer can pay with multiple punches in the same booking.

Punch cards vs value cards

  • Punch cards have a fixed number of uses. One punch per booking (or per duration unit).
  • Value cards have a monetary balance. The booking cost is deducted from the balance.

Usage restrictions

You can optionally set usage limits per time period:

  • Period – daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
  • Max bookings in period – how many bookings the card can be used for in each period.

Conditions

You can restrict when and where a punch card can be used by setting conditions on the card type. Available conditions:

  • Date range – valid only within specific dates.
  • Weekdays – valid only on selected days of the week.
  • Time of day – valid only during certain hours.
  • Courts – valid only for specific courts.
  • Hours in advance – the booking must be made at least X hours before the start time.

If no conditions are set, the punch card can be used for any booking. You can combine multiple conditions – all must be met for the card to be valid.

Managing punch cards

Go to Administration > Offers > Punch cards to see all active and archived punch card types.
