What are membership types?
Membership types are used to categorize and group your members. Each type has a name, description, and price. For example: “Junior”, “Members below age 18”, 400 SEK.
Go to Administration > Membership types to view, edit, and create membership types.
Creating a membership type
- Go to Administration > Membership types.
- Click Add.
- Enter a name (e.g. Senior, Junior, Student).
- Add a description with the membership terms.
- Set the price.
- Configure the following options:
- Purchased online – allow members to purchase this type online at MATCHi. Requires online membership purchase to be activated (contact MATCHi).
- Applies to organisations – restrict this type to company/organisation customers.
- Paid on renewal – enable automatic renewal with payment. When a membership of this type expires, a new one is created automatically.
- Send payment link – automatically send a payment link when the membership is renewed.
- Click Save.
Validity settings
- Valid time amount and unit – how long the membership is valid (e.g. 12 months, 1 year)
- Yearly start date – for yearly memberships, set a fixed annual start date (e.g. “1 January”)
- Purchase days in advance (yearly) – how many days before the yearly start date customers can purchase online (1–365 days)
- Grace period for failed renewal – number of days to allow for payment retry when automatic renewal payment fails
Membership types and pricing
The price on the membership type is what the customer pays when applying for the membership. If you want to give members different booking prices, configure this through customer categories and price lists – see Special prices for membership.
