Overview
When you create a season, you build the framework for your booking schedule: the date range and the default opening hours for each court. Start with the most common settings so you need the fewest deviations afterwards.
Steps to create a season
- Go to Administration > Seasons and click Add.
- Name – give the season a descriptive name, e.g. “Spring/Summer 2026”.
- Start date and End date – set the date range for the season. Seasons cannot overlap with each other.

Court hours – for each court, set:
- Opening time and Closing time per weekday (Monday–Sunday). The opening time must be before the closing time.
- Booking duration – the length of each time slot (e.g. 1:00 for one hour, 1:30 for 90 minutes). This cannot be 00:00.
- Time between bookings – optional gap between slots (e.g. 0:10 for a 10-minute break).
- Click Save.
MATCHi will generate the time slots in the background. This may take a moment for large schedules. While the season is initializing, it cannot be edited or deleted.
Copy last season
To quickly create a new season based on your previous one, click Copy last season. This duplicates:
- The season name and description
- All court opening hours
- All deviations, with dates shifted to match the new season period
The new season starts immediately after the last one ends. You can then adjust the dates and settings as needed.
Edit a season
- Go to Administration > Seasons and click on the season.
- You can change the name, dates, and court opening hours.
- If you extend or shorten the date range, MATCHi will automatically add or remove time slots to match.
- Click Save.
Note: If you shorten a season and there are existing bookings in the removed date range, they must be handled first.
Delete a season
A season can only be deleted if it has no bookings. If the season has bookings, you need to cancel or move them before deleting. Go to Administration > Seasons, click on the season, and click Delete.
