Booking restrictions
Booking restrictions let you reserve specific time slots for customers who match a requirement profile. Until the restriction expires, only qualifying customers can book those slots. After expiry, the slots open up to everyone.
How it works
- A restriction is applied to one or more time slots in the schedule.
- Only customers who match the linked requirement profiles can book the restricted slot.
- The restriction has an expiry time – for example, “72 hours before the slot starts”. After that, anyone can book.
- Facility administrators can always book restricted slots regardless of the restriction.
How to create a booking restriction
- Go to the Booking schedule.
- Select the slot(s) you want to restrict.
- Choose Add booking restriction.
- Select one or more requirement profiles that customers must match.
- Set the expiry:
- Value – a number (e.g. 72).
- Unit – minutes, hours, days, or weeks.
- Optionally, apply to recurring slots by setting a date range and selecting specific days of the week.
- Click Save.
Example
A venue wants to give members first access to prime-time slots. They create a requirement profile for members, then add a booking restriction to the 17:00–21:00 slots with a 48-hour expiry. Members can book these slots up to two weeks ahead, while non-members can only book from 48 hours before the slot starts.
Removing a restriction
To remove a restriction, select the restricted slot(s) and choose Delete restriction. When a slot is booked, its restriction is automatically removed.
