In-app messages let you reach your players directly in the MATCHi app. The messages appear in the player’s notification center, and they will also receive a push notification if they have push enabled.
What can I use in-app messages for?
For example, you can communicate about:
- Court status and disruptions
- Campaigns, offers, or membership information
- Course starts, events, and activities
- Important changes that affect your players
Who receives the message?
When you select recipients, your existing customer filters are used. Only customers who have a MATCHi account can receive in-app messages. In the interface, you can clearly see how many of the selected customers are actual users, and how many do not have a MATCHi account.
How to send an in-app message
- Go to the customer registry, membership registry, course participants, or an activity list.
- Filter and select the customers you want to reach.
- Choose Action → In-app message.
- Write a title and your message. In-app messages support basic formatting as well as links and emojis.
- You can choose to send a test message to yourself to see how it looks.
- Send — you’ll receive a confirmation once the message has been delivered.
How messages appear for players
Players will receive:
- A red badge on the notification icon in the app
- A push notification (if push is enabled)
- A clear feed of all messages, sorted by time
- Information about which venue each message comes from
Player options and control
Players can:
- Unsubscribe from in-app messages from a specific venue
- Mute push notifications for all in-app messages (messages still appear in the list)
This means players always have access to the information, while choosing how much they want to be notified.
