In MATCHi, there are several ways to communicate with your players and customers. You can send emails directly from the customer registry or reach players through in-app messages in the MATCHi app. By using filters and groups, you can easily target the right audience.
Send emails to customers
You can send messages to one or more customers directly from the customer registry.
Step by step
- Go to Customers.
- Use the filters to find the customers you want to contact (e.g. by group, membership status, or season).
- Select the customers.
- Click Select action → Send email.
- Write your message.
- Click Send.
Email options
When sending emails, there are several options:
- Include guardian email address – send the message to guardians as well (useful for juniors)
- Unique email address – if multiple customers share the same email address, only one message is sent per address. The system prioritizes the family contact.
- Send copy – receive a BCC copy sent to the venue administrator email address
Important to know
- Messages are sent asynchronously in the background, meaning large mailings do not affect your workflow.
- Customers who have opted out of club messages will not receive the email.
- Only customers with a valid email address are included in the mailing.
In-app messages
In-app messages allow you to reach your players directly in the MATCHi app. The messages appear in the player’s notification center, and the player also receives a push notification if push notifications are enabled.
What can I use in-app messages for?
You can, for example, communicate about:
- Court status and operational disruptions
- Campaigns, offers, or membership information
- Course starts, events, and activities
- Important changes affecting your players
Who receives the message?
When selecting recipients, your existing customer filters are used.
Only customers with a MATCHi account can receive in-app messages.
In the view, you can clearly see how many of the selected customers are actual users and how many do not have a MATCHi account.
How to send an in-app message
- Go to the customer registry, membership registry, course participants, or an activity list.
- Filter and select the customers you want to reach.
- Click Select action → Send in-app message.
- Write a title and your message. In-app messages support some formatting, as well as links and emojis.
- You can choose to send a test message to yourself to preview how it will look.
- Send — you will receive a confirmation once the message has been sent.
How are messages shown to players?
Players receive:
- A red badge on the notification icon in the app
- A push notification (if push notifications are enabled)
- A clear flow with all messages sorted by time
- Information about which venue each message comes from
Player choice and control
Players can:
- Unsubscribe from in-app messages from a specific venue
- Disable push notifications for all in-app messages (the messages themselves are still shown in the list)
This means players always have the possibility to receive information, while deciding themselves how many notifications they want to receive.
