Shared Resource

What is a shared resource?

A shared resource (also called linked courts) means that two or more courts use the same physical space or equipment and cannot be booked at the same time.

Example

A venue has a badminton court and a table tennis table that share the same area in the hall. If the badminton court is booked at 12:00, the table tennis table is automatically blocked during the same time slot — and vice versa.

How it works

Shared resources use a parent-child relationship between courts:

  • When a booking is made on a parent court, all overlapping time slots on child courts are automatically blocked.
  • When a booking is made on a child court, overlapping time slots on the parent court are automatically blocked.
  • When a booking is cancelled, the related blocked slots are automatically unblocked — unless another booking on a different linked court still requires the block.

Blocked time slots appear in the schedule with a “Blocked” label and are attributed to the venue’s system customer.

Setting up shared resources

Shared resource relationships are configured by the MATCHi team. Contact support if you need to set up or change court linking at your venue.
