About NIF Integration
For Norwegian sports teams and clubs to receive financial support for their members, these members must be connected to the Norwegian Sports Confederation (NIF). When reporting members to the Norwegian Sports Confederation, only NIF-integrated members are counted and not the total number of members in MATCHi.
Example: If you have 100 members but only 50 have a correct NIF connection, you would only receive financial support for half of your members, even though you are entitled to support for all 100 members. Therefore, it is crucial that you ensure members are correctly connected to NIF. It is not possible to manually adjust the member count afterwards, so it is important to have this connection in place well in advance.
How Idrettens ID Works
Idrettens ID is players' personal login to digital services within Norwegian sports. The Sports Board has decided that all members within Norwegian sports must be verified through the Idrettens ID service to ensure accurate and reliable reporting. MATCHi has created an integration with Idrettens ID so that your players can easily connect their MATCHi user to Idrettens ID. This way, they are automatically connected to NIF and are ready for annual reporting.
NIF Members Tool
The NIF Members tool is available under Customers > NIF Members. It helps Norwegian venue administrators manage individuals who exist in the Norwegian Sports Federation (NIF) system but are not found in MATCHi.
When this happens
Members may appear here if:
- The automatic matching process between NIF and MATCHi failed.
- A person was added via the NIF API.
- They are a leftover from a previous integration.
What you can do
- Create a new customer – create a MATCHi customer with data pre-filled from NIF (name, contact details, etc.).
- Search and link – search for the person in your MATCHi customer registry and link their NIF record to an existing customer.
What Venues Need to Do
Below you will find a step-by-step guide that we recommend sending to members, along with an encouragement to complete the registration. When a MATCHi user is connected to Idrettens ID, the NIF integration happens automatically.
Note: To use this integration, your members need to log into their MATCHi account in the browser and click "Connect with Sport ID" and follow the steps to connect their account with Idrettens ID.
